...Weird Ass Lights in the Sky...
by OUTLAW ingood evening jwn!!...
as most of you know i live in a forest,in the mountains..at night there is very little light pollution... so the sky is one big theatre screen... i see shooting stars, northern lights, satellites, planes on a destination..it`s all very beautiful... tonight was different... .
tonight there was something in the sky that defied anything i`ve ever seen... it had multiple aircraft lights but not like regular airplane lights..it wasn`t a helicopter... it could go straight up or down... move in one direction then head in another..it could do all kinds of weird stuff... sometimes it just hovered..then start doing all these weird maneuvers... regular aircraft is going somewhere,it`s headed in a direction..not this thing... i watched a regular airplane pass it... .

Ooops, I didn't read the entire thread and realize that Gregor already did the mandatory anal probe joke. My bad.
But while we're on the topic, does it make sense to anyone that a civilization advanced enough to travel light years through the galaxy just to meet us earthlings would be content when they get here, with abducting Bubba from his trailer and conducting an anal probe, tucking him back in and then going home?
I mean, think it through. I've studied the digestive process in biology class, and it's really not that complicated. A few polymers, enzymes, monomers. Not much else up there except some cellulose and undigested corn husks. Really, do you people realize how long it takes to travel across a galaxy? Just to look at poop? I'm just sayin' is all....

I hope Outlaw takes some lube to bed with him, just in case the aliens want to probe his butt. I've been told that's what they like to do.

I Believe Full Disclosure Is Moving Forward
by metatron inanyone who deeply believes in a "free press" is very naive in my opinion.
for example, consider how stories about scandal suddenly appear out of nowhere after candidates actually start running.
i am also aware of how surprizing revelations appear in european newspapers about figures in the us - while little or nothing is reported in the american press.

Vamp: No, I'm not a nudist, that would be more exposure than I wanted to see, never mind anybody else!
However, clothing, and lack thereof, is very much part of our cultural heritage and conditioning. I see no reason why an advanced alien from another species and another planet would have the same conditioning and the same need to wear "briefs". Briefs are not even commonly worn by all humans.
Assuming the old guy did not have dementia and was not delusional from drugs, I find it more believable that some military scientists had some poor, bald, old human locked in a cage, wearing only briefs and were doing some kind of weird experiments on the poor guy to turn him into a grayish orange mutant.

Also, its hard to accept for the same reason, that stories about spirit beings are hard to accept. No evidence that we can all see except a few testimonials of those privileged enough to hear and see. Maybe the old guy was hallucinating from the cancer drugs or pain killers? That is also possible and a well-documented and researched side effect and hence more probable.
When there are two or more explanations for the same event, always go for the simplest and most probable explanation. Not as much fun as the conspiracy theories, but much more likely to be correct.

I find it interesting the alien was wearing briefs. Do aliens cover their genitals like us because their ancestors told them the same shaming story of their creation, original fall from grace and sinful procreation? Or do they have another reason?

Welcome relatively new.
Leaving good friends is the hardest part. It's not that we are leaving them. It's they who don't want to hang out with us anymore if we are not living the WT lifestyle. So think of it that way. It's still hard, but you realize that is their rules, and their choice, not yours, but its' the price you pay for living a life of integrity for yourself. (They will tell you its the other way around, but don't believe it!)
The good news is, if you love people and are a people person, there are 7 billion other people on this planet to make friends with, many of whom will like you and want to be your friend even if you don't go to the Kingdom Hall. Start doing things you enjoy and you will start meeting them.

DF'd and struggling....LONG POST........my story.
by confuzzled777 inhow do i make a long story short?
i am fully aware that if anyone in my area were to read this that they will know who i am.
i was disfellowshipped on january 28th 2010 after an "interview" about an evening of bowling with friends and family back in november 2009. i was among 4 who were disfellowshipped and 6 who were publicly reproved.

Public drunkenness and private alcoholism were such a problem in the congos I attended, that if they df'd everyone involved, then they would have df'd half the elders also. I know its the same in my father's congo in another town.
I've been to more than one JW party where the soberest people in the room were some "worldly" relatives. They just shook their heads in disbelief at the hypocrisy.
Not much of a drinker myself, have only thrown up from drinking once when I was younger. Didn't see the appeal. Plus, it's not healthy. That being said, should one be shunned and lose their whole family over throwing a party? Ridiculous!
That is way more harmful to a person psychologically and physically then getting drunk occasionally, I have no doubt. They are so unbalanced in that religion. Fornication is harming one self, so we will stone you to death and do even greater harm to you. Makes about as much sense to me.
Perhaps, now that you and your family have had a personal taste of the craziness, you could use this as an opportunity to research the religion to your hearts content. If you do, you probably won't ever want to go back.
Don't ever let anyone make you feel so bad about yourself again. Even if you did get drunk, so what? You didn't hurt anyone. You didn't commit a crime. On the scale of world importance, this doesn't even register. Make a life for yourself without the crazy religion. You'll be so much happier. Your parents will probably still associate with you too, since they seem to feel you were df'd unjustly.

Pissing On JWs That Are Geuninely Searching Here
by minimus ini just want to say something about witnesses who come here just to try to rebel rouse as opposed to jws that come here and are "searching" or are "active" members in the organization but are reading info on this site.. there's no reason to "beat down" witnesses just because they still go to meetings and we don't.
i've seen some insulting words against present elders and it's unnecessary and judgmental, in my honest opinion.
some jws like to spar with us on this board and it's a losing effort for them in reality.. who knows when or what will make someone actually leave the tentacles of the organization.

I've been in this forum for 4 years now, and it's been pretty much the same all along from what I can tell. Actually, I think the old fights used to be much wilder and much more interesting.
